The Hyde Street Youth Brass Band, based in Footscray, has been running since 1928, and is interested in the tuition of young people in brass instruments. The Band offers two youth-oriented music ensembles in the traditional British brass band style: these being the main band and the Training Band, which was formed in November, 2001.
As a youth band affiliate of the Victorian Band’s League (V.B.L.), members can be no older than 18 years of age. If your child plays, or is interested in learning percussion or a brass instrument, such as the cornet and tenor horn, fugal horn, trombone, baritone horn, euphonium (tenor tuba), and Eb and Bb tubas, get in touch with this great volunteer-run organisation.
