We’ve been watching this cafe’s progress for some time, wondering if it would accommodate kids and parents. They opened this week, and while it’s early days, there are several signs that this going to be another great one for little people!
We dropped in for coffee one morning to find there was plenty of room inside for prams (and wide doorways with ramps!). The cafe is quite huge, with a front room containing a large communal table, and two large additional dining areas that look out onto the immaculately landscaped central courtyard. We can see ourselves coming here frequently in summer, when the sunny courtyard is sure to be packed with patrons. The coffee was subtle and creamy, but still hit the spot, and the babycino was guzzled down in no time. It didn’t come with a marshmallow, which is sometimes a blessing!
For the kids, there are high chairs; an activity box filled with colouring-in cards, textas, stickers and books; a kids’ menu; and a sandpit out the back, as well as lots of lush fake turf for them to run around on.
The food offering is varied (in price and style), from simple breakfasts like raisin brioche toast ($7) and bircher muesli ($12), to lunches like the charcuterie board ($14), and more substantial meals like pork belly and duck confit at around the $30 mark.
We will definitely be back to show these guys some support, try the food, and see how the courtyard fares on sunny days!
