A couple of weeks ago we headed to Spotswood on a glorious, sunny day. The blossoms were out on the trees, the sky was sparkling blue and we both had a spring in our step. We wanted to sample the wares at the new brewery, but arrived early, before it opened. Hungry and seeking a late lunch, we stumbled upon Chase Kitchen. Gliding our prams through the roomy interior, we settled ourselves in the sunny courtyard.
While we sipped perfectly poured coffee, and the babies played, we perused the extensive menu. Hunger overtaking us, we settled on burgers. Boy did we make the right choice. Our Mexican and Boston burgers were worth the short wait. The generous, spicy burgers showcased homemade patties, succulent meat and crisp buns. Our tummies and our tastebuds loved them.
For parents with young kids, this cafe has it all: a courtyard and a little playhouse to keep the kids entertained, friendly service, change table, highchairs, yummy coffee and lots of scrumptious treats. We hear the Belgian peanut chocolate brownie is amazing. I was particularly impressed with the huge vats of melted dark and milk chocolate. Apparently this is used in milkshakes, on desserts and for some super special hot chocolates. I think another trip is in order!80 Hudsons Road, Spotswood Opening Hours: Monday – Sunday 8:30am–5:00pm
